All-Star Championship Wrestling was founded in April of 2002 by Vince McMahon (Simon Omant). The company survived in its original form until July of 2002. The championship survived in one for another until July of 2006 despite the closure of the company.

We include the title history complete and uncut out of respect for the championship, the promotion, and the competitors who worked to make it what it was.

In a tournament final, Christian defeated Scott Steiner (Dan Nichols) to become the first ever ACW World Heavyweight Champion.

Christian defeated Curt Hennig to become the first ever two-time ACW World Heavyweight Champion.

ACW ceases operations and the championship is declared vacant indefinitely.

On June 15th, 2006, before their scheduled pay-per-view match with Edge, Christian Cage revealed he was still in possession of the physical ACW World Heavyweight Championship belt. Christian stated that if Edge was so desperate to duplicate his career, he could start by trying to take the ACW championship from him.

Edge defeated Christian Cage (Scott Smith) to become the new ACW World Heavyweight Champion after Trish Stratus and Tyson Tomko turned on Christian.

On July 30th, 2006, Edge defeated Lance Storm (Corey Rich) to successfully unify the ACW World Heavyweight Championship with the SGW World Heavyweight Championship. The ACW championship ceases to exist as a result.
