THE HISTORY
OF THE PWO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 10/29/2000 - 7/31/2006 Pro Wrestling Online was founded in October of 2000 by Vince McMahon (Mike Gian). It survived in various incarnations until January of 2002. It remains the only promotion in history to be directly responsible for Solid Gold Wrestling suffering financial difficulty, leading to the closing of the promotion on at least one occasion. What WCW was to WWF, PWO was to SGW. We include the history of the PWO World Championship complete and uncut out of respect for the owner, the championship, and the people who worked so hard to make the championship what it was. |
