VACATED Immediately after winning the championship, Bret Hart thanked the fans and announced that he couldn't accept the SGW United States Championship because his eyes were set on the SGW World Heavyweight Championship. SGW owner Arn Anderson immediately booked an impromptu match between Steve Corino (Kfir Hezroni), Lance Storm (Patrick Quinlan), and The Rock (John Baron) to crown the new champion. |

VACATED Controversy surrounding the violence televised during the formation of The Apokolips led the network to put SGW Shock on hiatus before ultimately deciding to cancel the program, effectively causing SGW to cease operation for a number of years. The Undertaker was consequently stripped of the SGW United States Championship and it was declared vacant. |

It was decided by SGW owner Jeff Jarrett that the vacant championship would be decided in a match between heated rivals Matt Hardy (Archie Caplin) and Ken Kennedy (James Parkin). |

DATE REIGN As the reigning SGW Intercontinental Champion, Raven defeated Matt Hardy in a Raven's Rules match to unify the championships. Upon his victory, the United States championship and its lineage were absorbed into the Intercontinental Championship. The SGW United States Championship was unified with the SGW Intercontinental Championship. Upon the unification, the SGW United States Championship became inactive.
